Portree Fishing Boat At Low Tide
Acrylic on canvas (18” x 24”)
"Portree is the busiest tourist town on the Isle of Skye. We stopped for lunch and just behind the RV parking lot (who drives RV’s on those roads?) I found several boats just waiting for the tide to roll back in so they could get back to their work. Looking a little lonely in this scene, keep in mind there were about a dozen large RV and camper vans right beside me. Sometimes better to turn your back on a jammed parking lot and look out to sea. Painted several of the neutral values using fluorescent paint. I like the sense of sparkle underlying the mid-tones creating a hidden energy."
